What we do
At Save A Kenyan Initiative (SAKI), we engage in various activities designed to address the root causes of community challenges and violent extremism while promoting development and peace-building.
Our activities include community awareness campaigns, empowerment programs, conflict resolution and peace-building, partnerships and networking and research and policy advocacy.
Our Approach
- Educating communities about the dangers of radicalization and violent extremism.
- Hosting forums to promote tolerance, dialogue, and coexistence among diverse groups.
- Running multimedia and social media campaigns to spread peace-centered narratives.
- Offering vocational training, skills development, and mentorship programs for youth.
- Supporting youth entrepreneurship through funding, training, and networking opportunities.
- Creating safe spaces for young people to engage in productive and creative activities.
- Supporting access to education for vulnerable children and youth.
- Training educators on how to identify and address extremism-related issues.
- Facilitating agricultural and small business development projects.
- Mediating disputes within and between communities to prevent escalation.
- Training local leaders in negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Organizing inter-community peace dialogues and cultural exchange programs
- Developing curriculum materials on peacebuilding and critical thinking for schools.
- Collaborating with government agencies, civil society organizations, and religious leaders.
- Creating platforms for stakeholders to share ideas, resources, and strategies.
Partnering with communities to organizing cleanup drives, tree planting, and environmental conservation activities.
Partnering with communities to establishing community centers to serve as hubs for education, counseling, and skills training.
- Conducting studies to understand the causes and dynamics of violent extremism among other upcoming issues.
- Advocating for inclusive policies that address social and economic inequalities.
